CUPPING

Cupping

duration: 45 mn - 9euros

Cupping is a wonderful bodywork therapy in case of muscle tension and tightness causing discomfort or pain in any part of the body.

It also works wonders  in many cases of musculo-skeletal disorders, and many patients report walking on ' cloud nine' after a session.

Please have a look at the 'Cupping' section if you wish to know more about the great benefits of cupping for your health and well-being.

For patients who are not big fans of needles , but  still want to enjoy the benefits of Chinese medicine and the feeling of rejuvenation and relaxation of a deep tissue massage, cupping is a great option !

YOUR ACUPUNCTURE CONSULTATIONS

Initial consultation and treatment

During the consultation, Christelle will first listen to you and ask you a lot of detailed questions and ask you a lot of detailed questions about your medical history, health and what is bothering you. She will also look at your tongue and take your left and right wrist pulses. The aspect of the tongue, considered as a microsystem of the body organs and the characteristics of the pulse provide important information which help formulate the diagnosis.

Her goal is to find the thread running through your constellation of symptoms and to establish the right 'pattern diagnosis' from a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective.

Based on the diagnosis, a treatment strategy using classic acupuncture and/or other modalities ( ear acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, cupping, moxibustion or guasha) is established, which Christelle will thoroughly discuss with you before treatment can start.

It is absolutely normal to feel a bit apprehensive, especially during a first treatment, and for several different reasons ( being in pain and not knowing how long it will take to be rid of the pain is one for instance...), and Christelle is very attentive that her patients feel as  comfortable and relaxed  as possible and always welcomes questions  at any time during the consultation.

As mentioned above, the first session is longer than the follow-up appointments as it is important to have a as precise and extensive as possible overview of your condition(s) in order to establish the right diagnosis, and therefore to take the necessary time to listen to the patient and gather the relevant information which will form the basis of the personalised healthcare and treatment that Christelle will create for you.

An acupuncture treatment consists in needling acupuncture points, i.e.  precisely located points on the skin with very thin, single-use, sterile needles are inserted in specific points in the skin in order to rebalance the flow of vital energy ( the 'Qi')  in the body and help the body initiate its own healing process.

Follow-up consultation

Subsequent consultations always begin with an update of your state of health and of the evolution of the conditions that are being worked on, which allows for a recalibration or adjustement of the treatment if needed.

Because your body  - and your experience of living within it - is ever-changing and dynamic, the treatments can change and adapt right along with you.

Your motivation to get and feel better

Chinese medicine is not a band-aid, like ibuprofen or anti-histamine  that manage symptoms. It is designed to rebalance your entire system and promote healing from deep within, in order to achieve lasting relief.

Acupuncture works in a cumulative way, each treatment builds up on the last and the momentum created is what helps your body and mind to rebalance, repair and restore.

Because each patient is unique and heals at their own unique pace, the number and frequency of recommended treatments vary.

For instance in the case of recent acute conditions,  just one or two sessions may be enough.

However,  in the case of a chronic or long-standing condition,  it may take more time to 'shift' the condition and what works usually best to achieve a good result  is to come once a week during one month in order to consolidate the beneficial effects of the first treatment(s) and to make acupuncture work optimally for you.
